Gurgaon’s Awesome Pod Taxi Project Is On The Fast Track

In a bid to speed up the process for revolutionising public transport in Gurgaon, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Gurgaon Municipal Corporation will sign an agreement for building a 12.30 km track from the Delhi-Haryana border to Subhash Chowk in Gurgaon.

The track, which will go through the interiors of Gurgaon, will be built on the ‘design, build, finance, operate and transfer’ bases (DBFOT). The NHAI and MCG will sign a memorandum of agreement for speedy implementation of the project, The Hindu reported.

The pilot project which will have 14 stations across Gurgaon, is also expected to carry 30,000 passengers every day and turn around transportation in the city, as the decision came after a meeting between Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari and Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Hindustan Times reported.

Besides the pod taxi, issues including Dwarka Expessway and a link bypass to connect NH-8 with MG Road in Gurgaon, were also discussed during the meeting.
