In the last few years, a number of Indian cities, especially Delhi, has received a lot of bad press when it comes to air pollution. While it’s been established that the national capital is scores the poorest on air quality, only 14 Indian cities match standards set by NAAQS.
National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) prescribes an annual average of 60 µg/m3 of PM10 concentration in the air.
The quality of air is determined by the presence of particulate matter (PM) and other contaminants such as carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide.
According to a report released by Greenpeace India, ‘Airpoclypse’, only 14 cities comply with NAAQ’s standards (National Ambient Air Quality Standards) and make it worth living.
The notable thing about the list is that eleven out of the fourteen cities are situated in Karnataka.
So here is the list of 14 Indian cities you could consider moving to if you wish to breathe cleaner air!
