The winners of The World Press Photo Awards, 2017 have recently been announced. Over five thousand photographers from 125 countries sent their entries to the prestigious contest, which is currently in its 60th year.

Burhan Ozbilici’s photograph ‘Hatred of the World’, depicting the Turkish cop holding up his gun beside the spread-eagle body of the slain Russian envoy he had just assassinated, won the Photo of the year award.
