Amul does it again! And like its several cartoons in the past, this latest one too is brilliant, with its hilarious take on the entire Tanmay Bhat Snapchat video controversy, where the stand-up comedian mocked Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar.
If you haven’t guessed it already, the character on the far left is the India’s cricketing ‘god’, while on the far right is the ‘Nightingale’ of India.
The cartoon has two captions, ‘joke se jokhim tak’ signifying how a supposed joke can spark a nation-wide anger and ‘FIR se khao!’, a tongue-in-cheek statement on various political parties demanding an FIR to be filed against the comedian for reportedly insulting the country’s two Bharat Ratnas.
We just hope that like Amul… the infuriated lot too handle this controversy with a sense of humour.
That though is easier said than done.
