Zomato gives free meals, Ola helps: India Inc Shows Some Love For Chennai Flood Victims

Chennai is submerged and people are desperately in need of help and relief. While government agencies and volunteer groups are tackling situation on the ground, help from certain quarters of India Inc has also poured in.

Restaurant search and delivery service Zomato has announced a meal scheme for Chennai flood victims. Under the scheme, the company will buy and deliver a meal for the flood victims for every meal a customer buys anywhere in India.

Company CEO Deepinder Goyal on Wednesday tweeted:

Almost four hours after launching the meal scheme, Goyal tweeted that 15,000 meals were bought by Zomato users for Chennai flood relief.

Online taxi service Ola also came forward to help those struck in rains in Chennai. The cab service is jointly working with the fire department and has given a number for the needy citizens to reach them.
