‘How To Emigrate’, ‘End Of The World’. The Top Google Searches As Trump Wins US Election

SW Staff

Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States of America. And while his supporters are rejoicing, there are many Americans who are not – in fact, a lot of them are figuring out how to leave the country, according to Google search trends.

There was a sudden spike in the terms ’emigrate’ and ‘how to emigrate to Canada’ after news of Trump’s shocking victory started beaming across the world, the Telegraph reported .

And as if that wasn’t enough, the worldwide search for the phrase ‘end of the world’ also saw a rise.

The Canadian immigration government’s website crashed as well – after people started looking up how to become Canadian citizens.

Despite all the controversies, Trump managed to win key states such as Florida, Ohio and North Carolina, setting up his victory – and moving from Republican nominee to President Elect.

Mexico, the people of which Trump has regularly targeted in his speeches (and the country against which he has promised to build a wall), saw it’s peso drop to a record low.
