Driven By Hunger, A Child In Madhya Pradesh Consumed Insecticide & Is Now In Critical Condition

Driven by hunger, a tribal child in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district reportedly consumed insecticide. This has prompted the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to set up an inquiry into the matter.

The age of the child has not been made public yet. 

According to NDTV, the incident allegedly took place on the 31st of December. The child in question had repeatedly requested the local ration shop for wheat.

Different sources, reacting to local media reports told reporters that despite these requests the child was refused any food.

The child, unable to cope with hunger, then consumed insecticide and now is said to be in a critical condition.
