IAS Officer Ashok Khemka Gets Transferred For The 53rd Time In 28 Years

IAS Officer Ashok Khemka has gotten transferred again, for the 53rd time in 28 years. The government of Haryana issued transfer orders to 14 IAS officers, including him.

This March, he was posted as Principal Secretary in Haryana’s Science and Technology Department and his latest posting came within 8 months. Reacting to this, he tweeted: 

According to an official statement, his next posting is as Principal Secretary, Archives, Archaeology and Museums Department.

Khemka came into the limelight in 2012 when he cancelled the mutation of a land deal between Skylight Hospitality and DLF, which is linked to Robert Vadra.

A few years ago, when he was transferred from the transport department, he had tweeted this, expressing his helplessness: 

Tried hard to address corruption and bring reforms in Transport despite severe limitations and entrenched interests. Moment is truly painful. 

7 out of the 14 IAS Officers who are reshuffled recently are of the rank of additional chief secretary, belonging to various departments, including Excise and Taxation, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mines and Geology, Public Works and Civil Aviation.
