IIT, JNU & DU Courses Find Spots On The ‘Top 100’ List Across The Globe

While India did not fare too well in most departments, some institutions did find a place in top 100. 

Courses from Indian Institute of Technology (Delhi, Mumbai and Kharagpur), Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and the Indian Institute of Science (Bangaluru), have featured in the latest worldwide Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings.

For instance, Delhi University bagged 37th place in Development Studies and was among the top 100 colleges for Anthropology too. 

JNU also found a place in the 51-100 bracket in sociology and history.

As for engineering, here are the rankings based on streams:

1. Civil engineering: 51-100 bracket (IIT Delhi and Mumbai)

2. Computer science and information systems: 51-100 bracket (IIT Delhi and Mumbai)

3. Chemical engineering: 51-100 bracket (IIT Mumbai, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore)

4. Electrical and electronic engineering: Top 100 (IIT Bombay, Delhi and Madras)

5. Mineral and mining engineering: 38 (IIT Mumbai), 47 (IIT Kharagpur)

US dominated the QS rankings with 28 first positions and was followed by the UK, which ranked first in 13 disciplines.
