A fourth year student at IIT-Kharagpur was found hanging from the ceiling of his room at the campus on Friday.

22-year-old Nidhin N was pursuing aerospace engineering at the institute and hailed from Kerala.

According to an India Today report, Nidhin N used to set his alarm clock at 2 am everyday to wake up and study. On Friday night, when the alarm did not stop ringing, the hostel authorities suspected something amiss.

Later some of them broke open the window panes and saw his body hanging from the ceiling of his room at Nehru Hall B Block.

“Let me sleep,” was all that the suicide note found in his room said, reports the Times of India.

Police have been informed and the matter is being investigated.

This is the second IIT kharagpur student to end his life at the campus within a month. Last month, the body of a third year electronic engineering student was found near the railway tracks close to the campus.
