Three B.Tech final year students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee have received job offers of ₹1.54 crore per annum from a US-based multinational company.
According to the Hindustan Times, the students, from the Computer Science, Electronics and Engineering Physics streams, have received the highest package ever for any student at premier engineering institute.
Apart from the International placement, one student has got a job offer of ₹62 lakh per annum domestically which is the highest package for this year within the country.
IIT Roorkee stated, “Thirty companies have participated in the placement session and 363 students appeared for job interviews on day-1 of the session. 322 job offers including the PPOs were made. The highest international package has been ₹1.56 crore for three students, while it was Rs 62 lakh domestically.”
The ongoing placement will go on until December 15th and a total of 406 job offers were made on the first day of the session. In the last academic session 2018-2019, IIT Roorkee attracted 1,127 job offers for its students where Microsoft made the highest offer of ₹1.5 crores.
