The process of childbirth is a whirlwind of intensity, emotion and sentiment. It might not be the prettiest thing in the world, but it has a certain kind of beauty that’s hard to explain, almost otherworldly. Maybe it has to do with the fact that you’re bringing a whole new person into the world. To that end, photographer Leilani Rogers practises birth photography, as opposed to regular wedding or event photography.
As to why Leilani does it, she says it documents the excitement, the anticipation and the tender exchanges between a couple during childbirth, as well as the significant moment when you meet your baby for the first time.
