Get Set To Dive Underwater With India’s First Bullet Train From Mumbai To Ahmedabad

In a first of its kind experience, passengers will get the thrill of riding under the sea while travelling between Mumbai and Ahmedabad in India’s first ever bullet train!

The 508 km long, high-speed rail corridor would have a 21-km long tunnel under the sea, according to the Railway Ministry.

While most part of the corridor is projected to be on the elevated track, a short stretch after Thane (to Virar) would go under the sea, as per the detailed project report released by JICA.

This ambitious project would cost around ₹97,636 crores with 81 percent of the funding loaned by Japan. Construction for the same will begin at the end of 2018.

The bullet train is expected to cover the distance in about two hours, running at a maximum speed of 350 km/h!
