India Will Surpass China’s Population In Just 8 Years & Become The Most Populated Nation: UN Report

Eight years is all it’s going to take for India to surpass China’s population and become the most populated country in the world. According to a United Nations report, India will remain the most populated country until the end of the century.

While China’s population is expected to face a population shrink by 2.2 percent or 31.4 million by 2050, India is expected to add 273 million to its headcount by then.

The report says that India’s current population stands at 1.37 billion while China’s population is 1.43 billion and by 2027, India will significantly surpass China’s number.

Moreover, India will be the most populated country with a population of nearly 1.5 billion people with China coming second at 1.1 billion, Nigeria with 733 million , the US with 434 million and Pakistan with 403 million.

Even though the global fertility rate slows down, population will continue to grow. Moreover, life expectancy for the world, which stands at 72.6 years in 2019, will increase to 77.1 years in 2050.

The world population is projected to be at 11 billion by the end of the century.
