On the 20th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas — 1st of April 2019, the army achieved yet another commendable feat.
The Indian army inaugurated the longest suspension bridge over the Indus River at Choglamsar Village in Leh (Ladakh).
The bridge was built over a record 40 days by the Fire and Fury corps stationed at Ladakh.
The bridge, named Maitri, was built by combat engineers and was inaugurated by war veterans this week.
Standing proud at 260-feet long, the bridge is going to aid connectivity to Ladakh’s remote areas.
While the townspeople applauded the army for achieving such an amazing feat, the Internet was also all praises for the men in uniform.
The Maitri Bridge is now open to the public and it will connect villages such as Stok, Chchot, Choglamsar, and so on.
When something needs to be done right get the army to do it.
