India’s Top Woman Biker, Veenu Paliwal, Dies In A Road Accident In Madhya Pradesh

One of the country’s top women bikers, Veenu Paliwal, died in a road accident on Monday evening in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh. The unfortunate incident happened in Gyaraspur, 100 km from state capital Bhopal, when her bike skidded off the road.

Paliwal was on a tour on her Harley Davidson motorcycle along with fellow biker Dipesh Tanwar, who was on another bike. The two were headed towards Bhopal from Sagar. 

After the accident, Paliwal was immediately rushed to a primary health centre in Gyaraspur but her condition worsened. She was then shifted to the Vidisha district hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead.

The 44-year-old resident of Jaipur was a divorcee and is survived by two children. A Hindustan Times report states that she was planning a documentary on her motorbike journey across the country.

Veenu Paliwal, who was known for riding her bike at 180 kmph, was recently named the Lady of the Harley 2016 reports India Today. Her interest in bikes came from her father’s Rajdoot bike. 

She was also an active proponent of road safety and was wearing protective gear when the accident happened. “Love your bike, but be scared of it as well,” she had said in an interview to IBN Live
