About two weeks ago, a video of an elephant being badly injured while crossing the railway tracks in West Bengal went viral and after struggling for hours, the sweet soul passed away. The news caused rage among people and they started questioning the railway authorities’ alertness.

But recently, something happened that proved that a little presence of mind can save a life.

The official Twitter handle of Alipurduar Division, N. F. Railway tweeted a video of an elephant crossing the tracks and wrote about how the loco driver of the train pulled the break just in time and saved the animal’s life. Read and watch below:

Now that the video has gone viral, people are asking the officials to reward the train driver for his alertness.

Honestly, this kind of news restores our faith in humanity and we wish everyone working in the railway sector take a cue from Mr D.D Kumar!
