Recently, the Kartarpur Sahib corridor between India and Pakistan was opened to public, ahead of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

The first batch of Indian pilgrims were allowed visa-free entry into Pakistan to pay their respects at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.

This is indeed an opportunity to strengthen the ties between the citizens of both the countries. A heartwarming exchange between an Indian journalist and a Pakistani shuttle-bus driver is proof of that.

The driver, Sadam Hussain, was tasked with driving a shuttle vehicle to ferry Indian devotees from the Indo-Pak border to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.

Speaking to Indian journalist Ravinder Singh Robin, Hussain expressed joy at the opening of the corridor and said that it was great that Indian pilgrims can now come to Pakistan to pay respects to their religious guru. He said:

I don’t know about you, I am very happy to see you guys here to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, like we go for Haj.

The video has received a lot of love from the people on the Internet.

Simple and beautiful gestures like these can go a long way in strengthening the ties between India and Pakistan.
