Jharkhand Man Beaten, His House Set On Fire After Mob Finds Dead Cow Inside His House

In yet another incident of cow vigilantism and mob violence, a man in Jharkhand’s Giridh district was beaten up and his house was set on fire after a dead cow was inside his house. 

The incident happened in Beria Hatiatand village in Deori district on Tuesday when Usman Ansari was thrashed by a mob. 

By the time the police arrived, the mob had already set his house on fire. But Ansari and his family members were rescued and taken to the nearby hospital, reports ANI.

According to a report by Indian Express, police had to brave the crowd to rescue the victim and his family members. “When the police tried to take him to hospital, there was resistance from the crowd. There was heavy stone-pelting. We had to open fire in the air,” said Jharkhand police spokesperson and ADG (Operations) R K Mullik.

The report adds that 50 policemen were also injured due to stone pelting by the mob.
