Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said that state employees will have to wait for at least two more years for the seventh pay commission to be implemented in the state, reports Daily Excelsior.
Mehbooba, in her speech in Legislative Council of state Legislature, said that the employees and their unions will have to wait for at least two more years to get the benefits of the seventh pay commission because of ‘bad financial position of the state’.
”We request the employees and their unions to wait for at least two more years to get the benefit of new pay commission,” she said adding the state is facing several liabilities including provident fund.
She also said that if 61,000 casual employees are to be regularised, government will need to defer the pay commission implementation.
The Union Cabinet approved the 7th pay commission recommendations on Wednesday that will be implemented from January 1, 2016 and will impact over one crore central government employees and pensioners.
