Now, JNU Student leaders Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhattacharya Granted Bail

Weeks after JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar was granted bail in the sedition case against him, Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, have also been granted bail by a Delhi court.

The two have been granted an interim bail for six months and will have to furnish a bail bond of Rs 25,000 each, and a surety of the same amount. Both are facing sedition charges in connection to the controversial event organised in JNU on February 9.

The duo had surrendered last month after instructions from the High Court. They had been on the run for several days after being named among organisers of the Afzal Guru event where alleged anti-national slogans were raised.
