In a minor scuffle, journalists were assaulted by security guards outside Tata Group headquarters in Mumbai.

The incident happened on Friday when journalists who had assembled at Bombay House to report board meeting of Indian Hotels went beyond the cordoned off area to click pictures of expelled Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry.

In order to control the situation, the security staff pushed and roughed up the photographers and also damaged their cameras in the process. Many photographers were injured in the incident.

A Tata Sons spokesperson, however, apologised after the incident. “In the rush during the entry of certain directors, one of our security staff members fell down. The security staff then lost their cool, which they shouldn’t have. We apologise for the incident.”
