Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Passes Away At 66

Former Finance Minister and a top BJP leader, Arun Jaitley passes away at 66. He had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS since 9th August after he was admitted with complaints of uneasiness, weakness and breathlessness.

In 2018, Arun Jaitley underwent a kidney transplant surgery, after which he was put in isolation. Several key leaders had visited the ailing minister when he was in the hospital.

Jaitley held the Finance and Defence portfolios and was a crucial member of PM Modi’s Cabinet during the first term of the BJP government.

He did not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections because of his ill-health.
