Kamal Haasan Slams #AwardWapsi Protest, Says Intolerance Should Not Divide The Nation

Indian actor Kamal Haasan is the latest addition to the list of people slamming the ‘Award Wapsi’ movement. The veteran actor has strongly come against the people who have returned their awards against the backdrop of growing intolerance in the country.

He also added,”Returning awards is a futile exercise.”

Haasan has won several Indian film awards including four National Film Awards and 19 Filmfare Awards. With seven submissions, Kamal Haasan has starred in the highest number of films submitted by India for the Academy Award Best Foreign Language Film.

Earlier, Bollywood actors, Shah Rukh Khan and Vidya Balan have said that they would not return their awards. Both Shah Rukh and Vidya have received Padma Shri awards.
