Kapil Mohan, The Man Who Gave Us Old Monk Dies At 88

88-year-old Kapil Mohan, the chairman of Mohan Meakin that gave us the iconic Old Monk rum has passed away. 

He suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in Ghaziabad, UP.

Launched in 1954, Old Monk was for the longest time the best selling dark rum in the world. It was also the biggest Indian Made Foreign Liquor brand.

Mohan received the Padma Shri award in 2010.
