Recently, a disturbing incident of a mob attack came to light from Alwar when a Kashmiri youth filed a complaint of alleged assault by a mob.
According to a report by India Today, the attack was reported from Neemrana in Alwar, where a Kashmiri youth, identified as Mir Faiz, was allegedly tied to a pole and beaten up by a mob for being dressed in women’s clothes.
A video of him being assaulted by a mob went viral on social media.
Belonging to Kashmir, Mir Faiz is a final year aeronautical engineering student at a private college in Neemrana.
In his complaint, he has said that he left his college on Wednesday night, 4th September, and on the way he was allegedly accosted by two persons, who took him to an isolated place and threatened to beat him if he did not wear salwar kameez.
Talking to The Quint, his brother, Faisal said that these men then instructed him to walk around in the market in those clothes.
‘They threatened to kill him if he did not. He tried to walk into an ATM and change his clothes but panicked, when he came out he was caught by a crowd, tied to a pillar and repeatedly slapped.”
An FIR has been filed based on the victim’s complaint. However, according to sources, the police isn’t satisfied with his explanation. The case has therefore been transferred to the Intelligence Bureau which is currently interrogating the victim.
The Station House Officer at the Neemrana police station has also issued a statement that nothing suspicious has been found in the case as of now.
