The Prime Minister and Maldive’s president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih have agreed upon a ferry-cum-cargo service between the two countries, aimed at boosting tourism.

The ferries will start from Kerala’s Kochi and go till the Maldivian capital Male via Kulhudhuffushi atoll. 

The total distance of travel would be 700 kilometres.

Outlook India

An MoU was also signed by the two sides for water-tourism, talking about which PM Modi said:

I am particularly happy that we have agreed upon a ferry service between the two countries.

Well, I am already asking for leaves from my boss.
