10 Dead After Landslide Hits Manikaran Gurudwara In Himachal Pradesh

At least 10 people were killed after boulders fell on Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib, a popular pilgrimage site, due to a landslide in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh according to initial reports. Officials said the landslide happened near a Gurudwara in the town of Manikaran.

Death toll is expected to rise as reports said that several people are feared trapped under debris at the Sikh shrine.

Meanwhile, a team of ITBP personnel from the force’s 2nd battalion based in Kullu district has been rushed to the spot. “The team has about 30 mountain-trained personnel including a doctor. They will assist locals and the administration in relief and rescue operations at the landslide spot,” a senior Indo-Tibetan Border Police official said.
