With 15 Grand Slam titles (8 doubles and 7 mixed doubles) under his belt, Paes is a recipient of India’s greatest sporting honour, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, in 1997. He has also been awarded the Arjuna Award in 1990 and the Padma Shri in 2001.
