So, you have seen the Doordarshan Anchor at IFFI, Goa video and had a good laugh. And you probably wonder why DD sent her to cover an international film festival in the first place.
As an erstwhile hard news journalist, I can assure you that the smiley DD anchor should be the least of your worries.
While the goof-ups in the video are, honestly, quite hilarious to watch, have you never been in a situation where you didn’t know what to say? I see this more as a folly on DD’s end, rather than hers. They should have thought twice before sending someone clearly inexperienced to cover an event of national pride. Besides, it isn’t like she is mis-reporting, or worse, reporting fiction.
