A music video dedicated to the LGBT community aiming to spread the message of love and acceptance, has been approved by the Censor Board of Film Certification without seeking any edits. Titled as ‘Head Held High’ it is perhaps for the first time that a video in LGBT community has got a Censor Board approval.
“Making the video was a liberating experience. Seeing it get an approval from the Censor Board, adds to that feeling to share the message of love,” said Payal Shah, director of the music video under the banner of group Friends of Linger , which uses music to create social awareness.
Launched on March 13, the video can now be aired by television channels anywhere in India under a restriction of parental guidance for children under the age of 12 as it has been given a (U/A) rating. The video has already received over 44,000 unique views on YouTube.

The approval of this video marks a little step towards achieving the wider acceptance of issues and concerns relevant to the LGBTQ community.
