Social Media Comes To The Rescue Of A 65-Year-Old Who Was Mercilessly Bullied By A UP Cop

On the pretext of removing ‘encroachments’ in the high security area of Lucknow’s Hazratganj, a 65-year-old elderly man named Krishna Kumar was shoved away and his typewriter was destroyed by Sub-Inspector Pradeep Kumar on Saturday, September 19. Krishna Kumar had been sitting on the pavement outside the General Post Office (GPO) working as the typist for the last 35 years.

As the photographs of the sub-inspector breaking and kicking the typewriter of the elderly man went viral on social media, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav took the matter into his hands. He made sure the police inspector was taken to task for his unruly behavior. Yadav also provided Krishna with a brand new typewriter.

That was a good save, Yadav! And a nice opportunity to clean up the UP Police’s image.
