Major Disaster Averted After Air India Aircraft Rams Into An Aerobridge At Mumbai Airport

A big disaster was averted after an Air India flight hit the aerobridge at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Friday. The flight was about to leave for Riyadh.

The photo tweeted by ANI shows some damage to the left engine of the plane as well as to the aerobridge.

According a DNA report, around 200 passengers were on board Air India AI 922 (Mumbai-Riyadh) that collided with an aero bridge which led to some major dents in the engine of the aircraft. However, no passengers were injured in the incident.

The incident has led to a blame-game between the airline and MIAL( Mumbai International Airport Limited), the operator of the airport. But no clear reports have emerged on the reason behind the mishap.
