Everyone’s elated as 20-year-old medical student, Manushi Chillar, was crowned as the Miss World, and got the crown back home after 17 long years.

Playing on her surname, Chhillar, Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor took a jibe at demonetisation announced by the PM last year.

The tweet landed him in hot water and Twitterati criticised him for exploiting Chhillar’s achievement to slam the BJP government.

Even the National Commission for Women termed the tweet as derogatory and degrading, and said it would summon him for the same.

Tharoor soon tweeted out an apology:

At the same time, Vineet Jain, MD of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd., tweeted that he wasn’t at all offended by Tharoor’s tweet and that we should learn to be tolerant towards light-hearted humour.

Now, the woman of the hour, Manushi Chhillar herself has replied settling this debate once and for all.

Here’s what she said:

Well, no doubt we’ve got the most deserving Miss World!
