Two days after Maharashtra government made it mandatory to screen Marathi films during prime time slots, the rule has been relaxed.
According to the new rules, what would have been 6 pm-9 pm has now been changed to 12 noon to 9 pm, but 124 shows are compulsory in a year. The decision came after Marathi film producers met Culture Minister Vinod Tawde and expressed their willingness for a time band from 12 noon to 9pm.
On Wednesday, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnik moved a breach of privilege notice and demanded action against author and socialite Shobhaa De, for her “offensive” tweets on this matter.
