Mark Zuckerberg Changes His Profile Pic To Indian Tricolor, Supports Digital India Campaign

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg seems to be eagerly awaiting his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In anticipation, he has changed his FB profile photo to the Indian tricolour to show his support for India’s digital future and connectivity.

“I changed my profile picture to support Digital India, the Indian government’s effort to connect rural communities to the internet and give people access to more services online. Looking forward to discussing this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Facebook today,” Zuckerberg wrote in a post on Facebook.

One of the key projects of the Modi Government, digital India is an initiative to integrate the citizens of India with all government departments. The initiative reduces people’s dependency on paperwork and makes the process electronically enabled. One of the key features is the plan to connect rural India with high speed Internet connectivity.
