A major fire in a a refugee camp near the French port of Calais just hours after the attacks in Paris killed over 100 prompted doubts over whether it was a reprisal for the terror strikes.
The fire broke out in the refugee camp known as the ‘Jungle’ where hundreds of migrants from regions like Syria are presently living.
According to a Daily Mail report , over 2,500 metres of tents and shelters were burnt down in the fire which is believed to have started due to an electrical wire.
The camp also had gas cylinders that were being used by the refugees and they exploded in the fire, making firefighting more difficult. It didn’t help that there was a strong wind at the time as well.

The deputy mayor of Calais told RT that there were no casualties due to the fire. He also said that there was no evidence to show that the fire was connected in any way with the attacks in Paris.
