Friends are crazy. And no, that is not a stereotype. All friends are crazy. Especially when it comes to a sport that y’all follow with passion.
In this case, it is the story of some Mexican friends from Durango, who, in 2014 had decided to travel to Russia to watch the FIFA World Cup 2018.
Unfortunately for them, one of their buddies couldn’t travel with them because his wife wouldn’t let him.
Now, normally this would put a dampener on the celebrations. But for these lads, nothing was going to stop them from celebrating.
So what they did was get a beautiful cardboard cut-out of Javier wearing a t-shirt that says, “My wife didn’t let me” and travelled with it.
The boys then started a Facebook page documenting their travels along with taking pictures with Javier’s cut-out wherever they went.
And the guy in the cardboard even looks happy. You can tell!
God damn! This is some new level of crazy, right? I mean, it’s the World Cup. So it’s bloody worth it.
