Champion Surfer Mick Fanning Fights Off Shark Attack During Tournament In South Africa

Champion surfer Mick Fanning had a ‘Jaws’ like moment at the World Surf League tournament in South Africa. The Australian surfer had to fight off a shark with his bare hands after it reportedly flipped him off his board during the event.

Fanning is a triple world champion surfer and has earned the nickname ‘White Lightning’, because of his speed in the water.

Fanning’s incredible awareness and strength saved him from what could have been a life threatening experience.

He later told reporters he managed to punch “the shark in the back”.
