Mob Sets Police Station Ablaze After Young Man’s Death In UP

Agitated over the death of a 22-year-old man, who went missing, a mob on Wednesday set the Madanpur police station in Deoria district on fire along with a number of vehicles including that of the SHO. 

The attack took place after the body of Rahmatullaha Ansari was found in the morning. The angry mob also set afire a number of vehicles including that of the SHO and circle officer alleging that police is responsible for Ansari’s death.

Gorakhpur Zone DIG Shivsangar Singh said that people got agitated after recovery of the dead body. He said two dozen persons have been detained in this connection and two policemen were injured in the incident.
