Even In The Dead Of The Night, I Will Respond If Muslims Knock On My Door, Says PM Modi

Call it a political gimmick or whatever, Prime Minister Narendra Modi must have won the hearts of many Muslims in India with his latest statement. However, it must have come as a surprise to many in his parent organisation RSS and other Hindu extremist groups.

The Prime Minister’s remarks that that he will be available even at midnight to address concerns of the minority community, seems to have come as a major confidence booster for the Muslims. The country’s largest minority have gone through some tough times ever since the BJP took power at the center. The issues like Ghar Wapsi, Love jihad, and other incidents of communal clashes have haunted them over the months.

Modi has reportedly told a delegation of Muslim leaders that he will be available even at midnight to address concerns of the minority community.

“The Prime Minister told me that his doors would be open to us even at 12 in the night to discuss any issues and concerns of the Muslims. He said, ‘I give you my word, I will respond if you knock on my door at midnight,'” Ilyasi told Hindustan Times .

Modi added that he doesn’t believe in politics that divide people on communal lines. The Prime Minister also discussed social, economic and educational issues related to Muslims with the 30-member delegation, led by Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, chief imam of the All India Imam Organisation, which called on him on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat on Tuesday, June 2.

According to a statement issued by the PMO, Modi stated that the “politics of majority and minority had caused a lot of damage” to the country. Employment and development are the solution to all problems, and Modi said he is focused on delivering them.
