Twitterati Enraged After Tabloid Gives Terrible Headline For Interview On PV Sindhu

Mumbai Mirror perhaps gave the worst headline possible after getting an exclusive interview with PVV Lakshmi, the wife of Pullela Gopichand.

Lakshmi herself was a former national Badminton player who represented India in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and now, helps her husband run the academy in Hyderabad. And this is what the headline reads:

PV SINDHU HAS WHAT I DIDN’T HAVE – MY HUSBAND

And this is the actual quote from which it was drawn:

“Sindhu has what I didn’t have back then – my husband as coach,” she said.

The quote was in reference to her husband, who is being hailed as the “Dronacharya” of Indian badminton for having successfully groomed star players like Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu in his academy.

Sindhu recently scripted history in Rio Olympics by becoming the first Indian woman to win a silver at the Olympics.

And Twitterati were not amused given it dealt with Sindhu:
