It seems Indians have full faith in their government, as an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) report suggests that 73% people have confidence in the Narendra Modi government.

Going by the OECD’s Government at a Glance report 2017, India ranks first on the “Trust in government” chart. The international organisation assesses the economic, social and environmental aspects, NDTV reports.

Following India’s footsteps is Canada, headed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who has the confidence of 62% of his citizens. India Today reports that Turkey, which saw a failed coup attempt in 2016, occupies third place with 58% confidence.

The other two nations among the top five are Russia and Germany, with 58% and 55% confidence levels, respectively.

Greece is at the bottom of the list with only 13% of its citizens having faith in the government. This seems to mostly stem from the frustration that Greeks are facing after having to bear the brunt of an immigration crisis.

According to the India Today report, trust in the government has a strong correlation with the citizens’ faith in their country’s government. Leadership with high morality has been trusted by citizens more often.
