Remembering India’s former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his 125th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative coin of Rs 125 and a circulation coin of Rs 10 on Teachers’ Day eve.

The event took place at New Delhi’s Manekshaw Auditorium. Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha and HRD Minister Smriti Irani were present on the occasion.

The philosopher and scholar Dr Radhakrishnan’s birthday, 5th September, is celebrated as Teachers’ Day nationwide. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the release of a commemorative coin and a circulation coin in a tweet.

The event was followed by the Prime Minister’s interaction with around 800 school students through video conferencing.
