What happens when an actor of Naseeruddin Shah’s caliber meets a music maestro like Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan. No points for guessing that it creates a magical experience which is a melodious treat for all senses.
Good news is, this celestial combination is not a fantasy anymore. These two masters of their respective fields have come together in a beautiful video which pays homage to another virtuoso Nasir Kazmi.
The video features the well crafted ghazal ” dil dharhakne ka sabab “, sung by Khan and depicts Naseeruddin Shah. Nasir Kazmi (1925-72), was a famous Urdu poet from Pakistan.
“Penned by notable poet Nasir Kazmi, Shafqat’s ghazal is a tribute to his late father, Ustad Amanat Ali Khan. It was composed by Ustad Amanat but was never recorded which inspired Shafqat to make the video,” notes The Express Tribune .
