Navjot Singh Sidhu Tears Into Arvind Kejriwal, Says He Only Wants A ‘Yes Man’

Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu tore apart Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday saying that he only wants a ‘yes man’ and that Kejriwal did not want him to contest the Punjab assembly elections next year.

Sidhu on Wednesday held a press conference to announce his plans on his newly-formed political outfit Awaaz-e-Punjab, which he said is only a “forum” at this point and not a full-fledged party.

Looking to set the record straight on what transpired during his meeting with Kejriwal, Sidhu said, “Kejriwal ji tweeted about meeting with me, but he only said half-truth. Let me complete it. I met him, and I understood that he cannot work with those who don’t agree with him. AAP works like East India company,” reports Financial Express.

He further revealed that the AAP supremo wanted him to not contest polls but only campaign for it. “He (Kejriwal) wanted to project me as a decoration piece. I asked Arvind to define a role for me. He did not want me to contest the elections. Instead, he offered to make my wife a minister if AAP comes to power. I said Sat Shri Akal. You (Kejriwal) only want yes men,” said Sidhu.

“They (AAP) have been trying to contact us (my wife and me) for the last two years now,” he added.

Last month, Kejriwal sought to scotch “rumours” on Navjot Singh Sidhu’s possible induction in Aam Aadmi Party, and had said that the cricketer-turned-politician had not put any pre-condition and just needed “time to think”. Kejriwal had also said his respect for Sidhu will continue irrespective of whether “he joins (AAP) or not”.

Sidhu went one step further in his attack on Kejriwal alleging that the Delhi Chief Minister was insecure. “He wanted a four-term Lok Sabha MP who had also rejected the Rajya Sabha not to contest,” he said, reports India Today

Bholi soorat par dil ke khotey, naam badey aur darshan chhotey,” he said.

The former cricketer even said that Kejriwal thinks “only he is honest” and “believes in taking credit” whereas “we believe in working”.
