The National Green Tribunal(NGT) has slammed governments of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Centre over the rising pollution levels in the states, reports ANI.

It criticised them for not able to take steps to curb pollution.

Stressing upon the issue of stubble burning in Punjab, the NGT asked,”What action have you taken against those violating NGT orders? 70% land in Punjab is used for crop burning, what is Delhi Govt doing?.”

“Isn’t it your responsibility to curb pollution? What is Nagar Nigam doing, they were asked to use machines for cleaning purposes earlier,” NGT asked.

It also sought reasons for delay in the execution sprinkling water project on roads to reduce dust using helicopters.
