No Room For A Sex Worker’s Daughter. Why? This Video Might Change Your Mind

As you read this, a group of twelve girls in their teens who hail from Asia’s largest red light area, Kamathipura in Mumbai, are getting ready to perform a play called Lal Batti Express ‘ internationally. The play describes their journey through misery, to finding themselves in society. The girls are either daughters of sex workers, or are victims of sexual abuse in the past.

Kranti, an NGO, has taken the initiative to help these girls in making their future better. More importantly, the NGO has attempted to find them a respectable position in the society.

YouTuber Divya Palat ‘s video here depicts the stories of these young women and their ongoing battle against sexual abuse, from their formative years, to now.

‘A prostitute’s daughter will only be a prostitute’? Maybe not.
