The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday announced the results for Class 12 after uncertainty prevailed for over a week leaving students anxious.

Raksha Gopal, an Arts student at Amity International School, Noida (UP) has topped the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 exams 2017 with 99.6%.

The second position  was bagged by Bhumi Sawant De from DAV Public School in Chandigarh with 99.4% and Aditya Jain from Bhawan Vidyalaya Chandigarh came third at 99.2%, says this report in news18

Nearly 11 lakh students appeared in the class 12 examinations that were held between March 9 to April 29. Out of the 11 lakh students, 6.4 lakh were boys and 4.6 lakh girls.

The overall pass percentage has however, dipped to 82 per cent from 83.05 per cent in 2016.

Anxiety and panic gripped students after the Delhi High Court had earlier this week ordered the board to continue with its moderation policy which was scrapped last month.

After contemplating moving the Supreme Court, the board decided against it as the process would have delayed the results further. Over 10 lakh students had appeared for Class 12 examination this year.

The students can check the results on CBSE’s official website(cbseresults.nic.in)
