In a shocking revelation that exposes the extent of abuse and violence prevalent against women in the national capital, the government on Wednesday told Rajya Sabha that 46 per cent of the total rape cases victims in New Delhi are minors.
Minister of State for Home Affairs, Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary, told the house that in the past three years, five minor girls were allegedly raped in every two days in the capital.
Providing a detail of rapes over a period of last three years, the minister informed the house around 5,658 total rape cases were registered with Delhi police.
